HISTORY

Welcome to Pawpurrfect Persians,I am Janine and I was born and raised in the Lake District. We first started in the world of cats in 1992. When after being involved in showing and breeding Afghan Hounds with my mum Anne Wilson, my life took a change of direction and my mum and I wanted a new challenge. We had always had cats as pets but decided to give showing and breeding cats a try and a whole new world opened up for us.
 

I first saw a Colourpoint Persian at Durham cat show when wandering up and down the rows of lovely cats I found myself staring into huge saucer like blue eyes "It was love" and the cat to blame for this love affair GR CH Rosjoy Johnnybegood who is owned and loved by Beryl Appleton of Anzani Afghans and Persians a friend and Affie lover like ourselves.
 

We were then introduced to the CFA year book and was taken aback by the sweet look of the cats in there and wanted to breed cats  of this distinction. So in search of cats with this look and pedigrees we went , and were lucky enough to buy two girls with American pedigrees, one full American and one half American (this girl was a Tabbypoint in disguise) eventually after a lot of looking and researching we decided to buy a boy and along came Shou Gingerbread and with him came a wonderful friend in Joan Hammett of Shou Persians after this we decided to import two cats from Carolyn Baker of the Sandypaws cattery in Florida  to whom we shall be eternally grateful to for sending over CFA CH and now FIFE INT CH Sandypaws Hot Rod ( another Tabbypoint in disguise! ) and CFA CH Sandypaws Passionate Kisses, then Pawpurrfect Persians was put on hold for a while due to my pregnancy.

We heard CFA GR CH Candirand Marqued Legend was for sale and bought him. Legend has been used on Bi-Colours and selfs in England but we wanted to use him for the Colourpoints and he really has made his mark in this way to us.

As the song you can hear playing says "We have only just begun" and so we at Pawpurrfect "have only just begun" to achieve the type of  Persian/Colourpoint that we wish to breed and in our view the best is yet to come. Hot Rod, Legend and Legend`s son  have given us some lovely kittens which we are now building on with the introduction of some beautiful cats from the prestigious Whisperwoods Cattery in America, We hope Skyline and KatyDid will continue to see Pawpurrfect cattery continues to grow and thrive and a HUGE thank you! to Marjorie Tadich for allowing her two beloved cats to come to us.

N.B. Due to unforseen  events Skyline has been retired as
an active breeding cat in our cattery
he remains with us and is well and happy and a constant source of joy
and love for everyone who meets him but mostly to Janine.
